Coronado Island (Day 5)

After the Midway we headed to Coronado Island, home of CaliKites and rumored to be a good place to kite surf.
Trace has been waiting all week for this day and his excitement is obvious.
As we approached the beach he kept saying, "do you see any kites?"
Taylor was the first to spot the colorful kites soaring back and forth over the ocean.
Trace can hardly contain himself. How many kites do you see?

Getting ready-woohoo!

Ready to launch. This is a new kite that Trace got in North Carolina
(hmm. . . he surprised me with that one)
and this is its maiden voyage.

Trace is riding the waves.

My hot kiter husband. ooh la la!!

So while Trace was kiting . . .
Taylor was boogie boarding (of course)
Tanner was everywhere (this is a rare moment when he sat down)

When Taylor was done boogie boarding he played in the sand with Tanner.
He was trying to build a wall to stop the water. Good luck with that.
Then he started building a house for the foolish man and the wise man.
Unfortunately the wise man built his house on the sand too.

This is as close as Tanner would get to the water.
I kept telling him to be brave :)
Every time a wave came in he would turn and run for higher ground.
